UN Report: Only 11 Years Left to Prevent Irreversible Climate Change

IPCC Report Highlights Urgent Need for Emissions Reductions

Food Waste, Meat Consumption Must be Reduced to Mitigate Global Warming

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a leading international scientific body, has issued a dire warning: we have only 11 years left to prevent irreversible damage from climate change.

In its latest Assessment Report, the IPCC stresses the urgent need for deep emissions reductions across all sectors, including food waste and meat consumption. These practices are significant contributors to global warming and must be addressed to mitigate its effects.

The report also highlights the growing intensity of heat waves, droughts, and dust storms, along with the disproportionate impact of climate change on the poorest and most vulnerable communities.

The IPCC's special report on climate change and land emphasizes the importance of plant-based diets in mitigating and adapting to climate change. The report states that "climate change is already affecting people, ecosystems, and livelihoods across the globe," and that "these impacts are disproportionately affecting the poorest and most vulnerable."

The report makes clear that time is running out to address the climate crisis, and that immediate action is required to reduce emissions and protect our planet for future generations.
