The Indiana Fever secured their first home win of the season with a thrilling 71-70 victory over the Chicago Sky on June 16, 2024. NaLyssa Smith led the Fever with 17 points, while Rebekah Gardner added 15 and Victoria Vivians contributed 12.
The Sky took an early lead, but the Fever fought back to tie the score at 37 early in the second half. However, Indiana answered with six straight points and closed the third quarter with a 53-49 advantage.
In the fourth quarter, the Fever held on to their lead despite a late surge from the Sky. Smith made a key layup with just over a minute remaining to give Indiana a 71-67 lead. The Sky had a chance to tie the game, but Candace Parker's shot at the buzzer fell just short.
The win was Indiana's first at home this season and improved their record to 3-5. The Sky dropped to 4-4 with the loss.
