The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a warning for extreme weather conditions expected to hit Cape Town this Friday, 10 June 2023.
The weather service predicts heavy rainfall, strong winds of up to 120 km/h, and possible flooding in low-lying areas.
Residents are urged to take precautions and to avoid unnecessary travel during the storm.
Precautionary measures
- Secure loose objects around your home, such as outdoor furniture and trampolines.
- Clear gutters and drains to prevent flooding.
- Stay indoors during the storm and avoid unnecessary travel.
- If you must go out, be aware of your surroundings and watch for falling objects.
